From Dust to Lush

It’s been some time since we did an article on rainfall in Canyonleigh. This is possibly because until Christmas there really wasn’t anything inspiring in the way of rain to write about. With the dry and dust enveloping us from spring onwards we wondered just how many shades of brown there are? Read the rest of this entry »

Aquatic Wonder Women

As editor of the Chronicle I get to meet some interesting people and I recently had the opportunity to have coffee with two amazing women who are now spending a large part of each week in Canyonleigh. Some of you may have already met them and experienced their enthusiasm first hand. They are Lynda Sutherland and Sally Beresford. Read the rest of this entry »

Canyonleigh Cooks

Hasn’t the recent rain been heaven sent! Robbie from the top end arrived early one morning with his amazing spreader which sprayed turkey manure over our paddocks and around the house and then perfectly on cue, down came the steady soft rain. Bingo, the pasture improved and now we are bright emerald green. The dam is full and the tanks are overflowing. It’s a thankful way to be in February. Read the rest of this entry »

Priceless Entertainment in Canyonleigh

Clowns of the bird world set the stage

Travel Tales – Vietnam

VIETNAM – A STAND NOT STILL ADVENTURE!

A large black wallet full of documents for Vietnam lies on my desk – a local family about to discover a truly amazing long and skinny country that borders China to the North, Cambodia to the South and Laos in the middle.  A country of beautiful people, painful history, endless rice, dizzy terraces and cloudy oceans.  A country to be seen and breathed before industrialisation possibly takes a deeper hold.
